I feel that I have learned a lot during this first unit. It was also very intersting for me, as well. I have found out about activities an archaeologist has to go through when excavating a site. I have also had the opportunity to experience the whole process. The Word Study was quite hard, because there were a lot of new words to learn. However, it was obvious that the knowledge we acquire will be very helpful for us and that it will come in handy over the course of the next units. The test wasn't difficult, because we had all the study tools that we needed. Those were our notebooks and the worksheets that were given to us. I found the note taking quite exhausting at times, but very efficient and helpful when it came to revising for the test. The journals were quite challenging, as well, because they required you to think a lot, and look back at all the lessons.
I personally liked the stories that we acted out to the class, because they required us to show our creativity, as well as help us build confidence. I didn't like doing the ancient mystery, because it was really confusing, and you didn't really know which facts you should put in the essay, which facts are important and which are not, etc. I also didn't really enjoy doing my family tree. For some people in my familiy tree, I didn't know the date of birth, when they died, and it required quite a lot of phone calls and researching to get most of the information.
